Moderator’s Diary
The Minister of Palmerston Place Church, Colin Sinclair, is currently the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland (referred to as the Moderator).
Colin will be traveling all over Scotland and beyond to carry out his official duties.
Here is Colin’s diary for the end of February and March
Tuesday 25 February – Arrive at Scottish Parliament Lunch with Presiding Officer Ken McIntosh. Lead Time for Reflection
Wednesday 26 February – Scottish Parliament visit. Meeting with Political leaders MSPs
Saturday 27 February – 9th March – Visit to Zambia
Sunday 1 March – Preach in a UCZ church in Lusaka, tour of Lusaka
Monday 2 March – Meetings with MCF (Men’s Christian Fellowship) & and WCF (Women’s Christian Fellowship) of Guild. Tour of Guild project. Traditional evening meal with Synod
Tuesday 3 March – Travel by road to Chipembi to see Girls School, Faculty, clinic and church. Go on to Mkushi and stay with David and Christine Moffat
Wednesday 4 March – Visit Chengelo school, Drive onto the Copperbelt to Kitwe
Thursday 5 March – Visit TEEZ UCZA . St Margaret’s and SU house
Friday 6 March – Fly to Livingstone from Ndola. Travel on to Mwandi (base for Keith and Ida Waddell, Mission Partners to UCZ). Stay in Mission house Simba
Saturday 7 March – Tour Mission schools OVC hospital Relief Programme. Kandiana Outstation. Meet local chief
Sunday 8 March (Monday 9)- Leave Mwandi for Livingston. 6pm Fly from Livingstone to Nairobi 10.05. fly from Nairobi 11.59 to Amsterdam 6.25. 8.10 Amsterdam to Edinburgh 8.35 (local time)
Tuesday 10 March – Mod to host parliamentary reception at Holyrood
Wednesday 11 March – The Well lunch followed by Thanksgiving Service Govenhill Free Church
Thursday 12 March – Carstairs rededication
Saturday 14 March – Attend Sanctuary in Scotland Conference Edinburgh Methodist Church. Llead worship and bring a reflection
Tuesday 17 March – SU Atlantic Community Group
Wednesday 18 March – Mod and Mod Des to be filmed by Oscus for ABC. Host SU Atlantic Community Group Reception.
Friday 20 March – BB event present cheque
Sunday 22 March – Preach at 150th Anniversary Dun and Hillside Church Angus
Thursday 26 March – Travel to Inverness Presbytery. Evening Meal with organisers at Glenmoriston Town House
Friday 27 March – Visit to Crown School. Visit to UHI or Centre for Health Studies. Crown Youth Club. Evening reception for Church leaders and Community Inches Church
Saturday 28 March – Highland Division Girls Brigade Ness Bank Church. Highland Hospice Dig foundation for St Columba’s NC Church. Followed by reception. Visit Cale House & Beechwood House ( Evening visit to Mickey’s line)
Sunday 29 March – Service in Nairn Joint Nain Old and Nairn St Ninian’s. Lunch in Nairn. Visit to Whinnieknowe Home (CrossReach) Drumnadrochit Church meal at Drumnadrochit
Monday 30 March – Harry Gow (Baker of the Year). Porterfield Prison. Olive Grove Café run by CofS members. Maggie’s Highland. Cameron House afternoon tea .Evening Civic Reception in Town House
Tuesday 31 March – Ecumenical Ministers Breakfast at Salvation Army. Visit to Birchfield Highland Muirfield Lane. Visit to Ar n-aite (our place) Church Street. Nees Food Bank Project Inverness Food stuffs. Guild afternoon tea. Meal at Mustard Seed prior to Service. Presbytery Service Old High Church Inverness
