Children & Youth

We have a number of groups for Children that meet on a Sunday morning, a Baby & Toddler Group that meets on a Monday, a Children’s Group that meets on a Monday evening and Messy Church that meets at Saltyard Cafe on the last Sunday of the month.

Below are details of the Sunday Groups at PPC – to learn more about the other groups, please select a group from the drop down menu under the ‘Children & Youth’ menu tab.

On a Sunday, our groups, with the exception of our Crèche, start in the Service and then go out after the second hymn to their activities.

Crèche
Every Sunday morning we run a crèche for the under 3s. Some go straight to the crèche, others stay for longer or shorter periods in the service. The crèche is run by volunteers who have been cleared through the PVG process and usually some parents are also present. It is meant to be a safe and happy space that little ones enjoy and can feel safe, allowing their parents to participate in worship. If a child gets distressed then a crèche helper will come into the service and invite the parent to come and be with their child. Carol Robertson organises the rota of helpers and always welcomes more volunteers.

Beginners, Seekers and Junior Horizon
Beginners, Seekers and Junior Horizon groups are run for those aged 3-10. The groups do some joint activities including singing and a bible story, and then move to different tables in the Church Hall to do age appropriate activities. During the summer months, we run a holiday club programme on Sundays.

New Horizon
For teenagers we run New Horizon, where, in a relaxed atmosphere, they can explore the Christian faith and how it relates to teenagers.
